Future Indefinite Tense Examples

Definition: Future Indefinite Tense also called  the Simple Future Tense. The Future Indefinite Tense refers to a time later or current time.

5 Types of Future Indefinite Tense:

Affirmative

Formula: Subject + will/shall + V1 + object.

Examples:

  1. Rakesh will go to college.
  2. Radhika will eat mango.
  3. They will write an application.
  4. They will play cricket.
  5. She will drink coffee.

Negative

Formula: Subject + will/shall + not + V1 + object.

Examples:

  1. Rakesh will not go to college.
  2. Radhika will not eat mango.
  3. They will not write an application.
  4. They will not play cricket.
  5. She will not drink coffee.

Interrogative

Formula: Will/Shall + subject + V1 + object?

Examples:

  1. Will Rakesh go to college?
  2. Will Radhika eat mango?
  3. Will they write an application?
  4. Will they play cricket?
  5. Will she drink coffee?

Negative Interrogative

Formula: Will/Shall + subject + V1 + object?

Examples:

  1. Will Rakesh not go to college?
  2. Will Radhika not eat mango?
  3. Will they not write an application?
  4. Will they not play cricket?
  5. Will she not drink coffee?

‘Wh-word’ with Interrogative

Formula: Wh-word + will/shall + subject + V1 + object?

Examples:

  1. Where will Rakesh go?
  2. What will Radhika eat?
  3. What will they write?
  4. What will they play?
  5. What will she drink?

Uses of Future Indefinite Tense:

1 Use express any future happening.

Example: My daughter will become a doctor next year.

2 When two clauses in a sentences belong to Future Tense then one will belong to Future Indefinite Tense & another will be belong to Future Indefinite Tense.

In this condition Future Indefinite Tense is used with when, whenever, while, before, after, as soon as, until, unless, in case. Simple Future Tense is used in the 2nd clause.

Example:

  • When she come, I shall go with her to the shopping.
  • We shall wait for until Sapna come back.

Adverbials of Future Indefinite Tense:

Tomorrow, next day / week / month / year, in few days, coming, after, later on, never, always, the following day night.
